Love yourself more...

Hey loves,
Today I bring you a post all about why you need to put yourself first at times and the importance of self-love in your daily lives over the self-hate you may be feeling just now…This is a carry on from a post written a few months ago by a guest blogger called we all need a little you time and the link can also be end on the post along with a few other posts that i think are relevant to this topic.

There is a lot of importance of putting yourself first. Caring for your-self like you would for a close friend, you will enhanced your health and increase your mental growth. If you haven’t already made yourself a priority, its good you clicked on this post, you will find out the benefits of why you need to be selfish at times to help yourself. I can’t say at times you will always put yourself first, that’s not realistic at all… But I hope with this post you start thinking about toxic friendships and your insecurities and it gives you the confidence to tackle them.

The thing is we’re all so great at being caring friends and lovers, except ourselves, we pick every flaw apart in ourselves… Yet we wouldn’t do that to anyone else (bar if we are the media who see that as entertainment but I don’t at all). Whereas we’re wonderful when it comes to brightening a friend up when they are feeling blue, encouraging them when they have felt the rage of failure, and celebrating their milestones. But do we try to love ourselves unconditionally? I hear most of you say sometimes or yes or no.

Often we believe that making other people happy will bring happiness to us, that isn’t simply the case. While no one wants to be thought of as “selfish”, there are times where putting ourselves first is not just best for you, but is helpful to those who you care for most.

Feeling bad about ourselves is usually an obstacle, it holds you back every time you somewhat try to overcome it, although with hard work and determination it’s beyond possible to change.

If I asked you now, could you accept everything about yourself, without feeling that it needs to be changed? I bet many of you are thinking I couldn’t, I’m sure there are a few things you dislike about yourselves, its natural although not if it gets in the way of your daily living.

The truth is a person who loves themselves is much more likely to take actions that are caring towards themselves like taking time to eat healthy and exercise as well as time for relaxing.
Self-love is the essential building blocks for love, happiness, and success in life.
I want you to take a minute to take time while reading this to get in touch with your inner self, with your body, thoughts and say “you are beautiful even with your imperfections”. I know this will seem weird at first but over time if you say this regularly it will become second nature and you will feel more confidence in your elf and the negativity you may have now towards yourself will lessen over time.

What are your tips on practicing self-love/ self-care when you know you need to spend time making yourself happy and not others?

Mines would be a bubble bath with a candle lit and some of my favorite music playing.

Lots of love
Becca xx

  1. I'm actually one of the rare humans who readily accepts everything about herself! I went from being massively under confident to being so confident that it verges on obnoxious...When I realised nobody was going to save me from myself! BE YOUR OWN HERO GUYS, acknowledge all the small things you do for your bodily on the daily and rememeber that its okay to be selfish

  3. Such an important post right here! You're completely correct, most people are such fantastic and caring friends when it comes to other people, but really struggle to look after themselves equally well! Thanks so much for this reminder, this was a very well written post!
