Four ways to look after your body!

Hey everyone,
Lately I have been feeling under the weather and then I decided todo some research on ways I could help my body and I have decided to share the FOUR things I have discovered with you all. These are things we all should incorporate into our daily lives to stay fit and healthy both mentally and physically.

Mental health is usually degraded in the world as it's still a very "taboo" subject although it shouldn't be and I just wanted to say it's actually just as important as both have horrible effects on our lives.

1. Taking time for exercise.

It's important to not over exercise your body and like wise not do enough. Even a little activity can help both your mental health and physical health. A simple thing like taking the stairs instead of the lift once a day is beneficial to your health.

2. Making sleep a priority.

If you’re tired give yourself permission to sleep. Even if you have a long list of jobs you have to do. Your body is telling you that you have over exhausted yourself. While you sleep this is the time while your body recharges it's batteries and repairs damage from a small graze to fighting illness.

3. Eating well

Food is fuel, we need it to function optimally. Eating well means feeding your body what it needs, in the most natural way you can. Food not only gives you energy but also provides your body with nutrients to help fight infections. Your body needs fuel just as much as rest to help your body work properly.

4. Listening to pain.

When something hurts it means something somewhere has gone wrong and this is the way your body tells you this. Yes, we often pay no attention to pain unless it becomes unbearable. No matter how small it shouldn’t be brushed aside because they represent damage within your body and can become a bigger issue.

Hope this has been beneficial to helping you keep your health as good as possible. If you have any other ways you care for your body leave comments below.

Lots of love

  1. I love this! Sleep is my weakness though, I love getting up early but I'm also a night owl...

    1. I'm the complete opposite. I love having a long sleep and waking up at like 11am or 12pm but I go to bed around 12am! I love a good restful sleep and it helps me get loads done during the day!

  2. The first three you mentioned I quite bad at and really need to try a bit harder with! Especially exercise - it's just so difficult to find the time sometimes!

    1. I totally agree with you. I'm very bad with exercise because I'm physically recovered from anorexia but mentally I'm not and if I start exercising it makes it a lot harder for me. I do however walk 50 minutes a day and take the stairs wherever possible so for me that's enough. Maybe you could try this because time always seems to escape us.

  3. This was so great, I'm the worst when it comes to sleep. I either sleep too much or stay up all night watching netflix! Definitely need to spend more time focusing on doing it properly x

  6. I really enjoyed reading this post. It can be the most simple thing for some people to do, yet the hardest for others when following these steps. I've learnt recently just how important sleep is since starting my new job.

    Thanks for sharing :)

    1. that's so very true, some people do these steps naturally and others like me it takes time to practice these things. Its definitely worth practicing them

  7. I'm no fan of 'ortganised exercise'. I hate classes and find the gym souless. The only solution for me has been to walk, walk, walk. I try to walk everywhere. Fitbit helps inspire me!

  8. This was great Becca, I am someone who will soldier on with pain till I can't stand it - which isn't always the healthiest. I'd love to sleep more but my timetable is all over the place with 2 part time jobs, a blog and trying to see my night owl of a boy sometimes I push my sleep aside. Must get better!
